WARNING: Some awesome content ahead. Not for the uncool or otherwise boring.
Hello! It's Flamingmeerkat and I'm here with some more Fallout 3 Mods for your perusal.
I've decided that every other day or so (or otherwise, depending) I'll post the new mods I've gotten for Fallout 3, rather than updating my previous post, which could get a bit confusing. Here's what I've gotten since my last post.
Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch
Fixes up various dirt and crud and bugs and stuff. Probably nothing that's extremely noticeable but its comforting.
(Manual install, the file is actually an .exe)
Enhanced Blood Textures
Makes the blood look real grody, if that's your thing. I personally think the default blood looks kinda stupid so this is great.
(Manual install, see instructions)
Imperfection - The Definitive Creature Mod
Adds some new creature enemies to the wasteland.
(Install through FOMM)
SmoothLight Pip-Boy Light Enhancer
Makes the Pip-Boy light look halogen colored and generally better.
(Install through FOMM)
Fallout 3 Redesigned
Makes the faces of NPCs throughout the wasteland look much better. I've seen it mess up facial animations on occasion, but it's not bad enough that I wouldn't keep it.
(Manual install, see instructions, skip step 2)
On the Road Radio
Very cool radio station. Not a fan of the country music, but hey, at least it's something different!
(Install through FOMM)
CONELRAD Civil Defense Radio
I prefer this one over the On the Road Radio. It has music from the era of the Atomic threat, and all the songs, which are quite catchy I add, are talking about the atom bomb and things like that.etc. Really fits the game. Even includes actual public service announcements from Civil Defense Washington!
(Install through FOMM)
Wasteland Variants
I've been in the DLC "The Pitt" since I got this so I haven't seen its effect firsthand, but you can see from the screenshots that it just adds a little variety to the clothes of wastelanders, specifically to the tshirts. Very small change but it'd be nice to see something other than the boring plain white shirts.
(Install through FOMM)
More to come! Until then, Happy Gaming!

MEERKAT MOD PICKS: Fallout 3
WARNING: Some epic content ahead. Not for the unadventurous or cowardly.
I've owned Fallout 3 on the PS3 for some time now, but I played through it once, explored every inch of that illustrious Capital Wasteland and leveled up as far as I could. Very quickly, naturally, I got bored and decided to get the DLC, which was kind enough to corrupt all my game saves back to level 15. I haven't touched it since then, but somewhere in the middle there I got a new graphics card and have been reveling in the joy of PC gaming (not extensively, though, the graphics card ain't the best), and only recently realized that I could run Fallout 3 on my computer fairly well.
And boy, am I glad I did.
The modding community for Fallout 3 is absolutely incredible. There is some very well done content out there, basically good enough that it should have been included in the game by Bethesda in the first place. So basically what you have is a treasure trove of free DLC, all coming from this lovely website here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/
Now, to the point of all this. Basically here I will provide a list of the mods I have added to my Fallout 3, each of which has made it an even more immersive, incredible experience for me. There's a ton more available than what I'm putting here, go check them out for yourself!
THE BORING STUFF
Before you download anything, register an account on the website. It's free and there's no annoying newsletter emails or any of that junk. It simply allows you to download bigger files (without a membership you can only download files up to a certain size).
Fallout Mod Manager (or FOMM)
This is the very first thing to get if you want to start modding the game. It's basically an organizational\easy install program that allows you to seamlessly maintain all the various mods you get. There are ways to manually install the mods, but if you're like me and installing new mods daily you need to have this.
ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated
I'm still not entirely sure what this one even does. All I know is it makes quite a number of mods work correctly. Basically install it and activate it and it does the rest.
Fallout Script Extender (or FOSE)
This one's pretty much the same as ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated. I only know it makes some mods work. It does something interesting with FOMM, it actually changes "Launch Fallout 3" to "Launch FOSE." But it still loads the game normally. I think this means that FOMM integrates seamlessly with FOSE, and when you load mods into FOMM it goes through FOSE. I'm not sure if launching it through Steam versus launching it through FOMM (as FOSE) makes any difference.
THE BASICS
Fallout 3 Reanimated
GET THIS. It improves some of the rather (in my opinion) stupid animations in the game, my favorite improvements being to how you and other NPCs hold guns, and your position when standing still.
HeadBob FO3
Does what it says. Adds a headbob to the first person cam, so as to add some realism. Personally I've always been bothered by straight moving cameras in games, so this is a godsend.
RH_IronSights
Adds iron sights to guns instead of the weird 'sideways lean' aim.
LIGHTING/WEATHER
Project Reality
This is one of my favorite mods I've gotten. It's basically a weather/lighting enhancement mod. It adds some rainy, snowy, windy, and cloudy weather so the same sunny wasteland days don't get old. It also has some additional features, like motion blur, eye adjust, nighttime adjustments, and radioactive rain.
Fellout
The biggest thing this mod does is remove the green tint from the game. You may not have noticed it before but if you look at the screenshot comparison at the mod page you'll see it. It always bothered me (especially since it scientifically doesn't make sense) so when I first saw this mod I jumped on it. This mod also enhances the nighttime aspect of the game, making it much, much darker. So dark that you can only see a few feet in front of you even with your Pip-Boy light on. I have Fellout Brighter Nights installed with it so the nights aren't quite so dark; however that was before I got Project Reality. I'm not sure if having Project Reality adjusts the nights to be brighter, I will look into it.
Realistic Interior Lighting
This is exactly what it says. It makes the lighting of interiors more realistic. A lot of the time you'll go into a room and it will have a single dim lightbulb, and no windows, but the room will be bright as day. This fixes that.
Fallout Street Lights
This lights up some street lights around the wasteland (mind, only in places where it would make sense to have power, like in settlements). Looks really fantastic at night. They have some issues if you have your Pip-Boy light on within a certain distance, but that's the only issue I've seen with it. Not a huge change but definitely a good one!
Megaton Lighting Overhaul
I never payed much attention to the original lighting in Megaton but from what I remember it was rather sparse. This gives it a bit more life (at least at nighttime).
BUILDINGS/LOCATIONS
A World of Pain
This was the very first mod I got for FO3. It adds some new unmarked quests and a whole bunch of new locations as well. Adds to the FO3 experience without interfering with the original content at all.
Megaton House Overhaul
Should you choose not to nuke Megaton and get the unoccupied house, this mod seriously overhauls it. It makes it twice as big, with a rooftop patio, basement, diner, etc, etc. It also adds a whole bunch of new accessories you can buy, like an aquarium and a water purifier. The themes you can buy are also a lot more obvious, with more decals and props.
DCInteriors
This one adds interiors to a whole freaking lot of buildings around the wasteland that were previously just there for show, and even some entirely new locations. Adds a ton more exploration, and that's surely never a bad thing. A must have.
EQUIPMENT
Wearable BlackWolf Backpacks
Adds equippable backpacks to merchants throughout the wasteland that allow you to add to your carry weight capacity, ranging from an additional 15-70.
Waster's Scarf
No armor rating, just adds a bit of apocalyptic flair to your character, with the option of revealing or covering (your mouth). Doesn't conflict with many other cosmetic items.
Coyote Reflex Power Armor
This armor...is the coolest thing to ever happen to Fallout. Period. I won't even go into detail, just get it, and I'll let you experience it for yourself.
ADDITIONAL QUESTS/ETC
Vault 101 Revisited
Continues the story of Vault 101, 30 days after completion of the quest Trouble on the Homefront.
Mothership Zeta Crew
Picks up where the Mothership Zeta DLC quests left off with some new characters, locations, quests, etc. I've just started this one but so far it is awesome.
